The tour begins at the marina in Puerto Aventuras about 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. Don't worry, we provide transportation from your hotel or resort that will take you to our dock. Upon arrival, you'll receive a safety briefing from the qualified crew, then you'll be off for an ocean adventure you'll never forget.
The first stop of the day is at Chemuyil. Chemuyil is a delightful deserted jungle beach complete with white sand, palm trees, and crystal clear waters. Here you'll have a chance to practice your snorkel skills and receive instruction from experienced guides. There's no need to bring your own equipment as each F1 Explorer boat is equipped with snorkel gear and snorkel vests for your use. |

The boats are equipped with a fresh water shower to rinse off the salt water, a Hi-Fi stereo system so we can listen to some tunes on the way, dry storage, a toilet, and of course all the necessary safety equipment. Our crew is made up of an experienced captain and a bi-lingual guide that is also a certified snorkel and dive instructor. |
The next stop is further south along the coast of Akumal Bay. Anyone with experience snorkeling in the Playa del Carmen area will tell you that Akumal is the best area for snorkeling. Snorkeling anywhere else will be a let down. There is an excellent reef with healthy coral and plenty of Caribbean reef fish along with wild sea turtles. It is not unusual to see at least two or three giant sea turtles during the stop in Akumal. In Mayan, the word Akumal means the place where the turtles nest. In cooperation with the Akumal Eco Society, we no longer snorkel with fins. We will snorkel with a snorkel vest and no fins to minimize the impact of the tour on the environment.
